Published by Treeshade, Scare Me If You Can is my first solo book, based on a unique concept. The story revolves around Sivan Singh, a best selling author who reminisces his days spent conducting an advanced horror writing workshop at a spooky resort in Mahabaleshwar.

The nine participants who are guests at the horror-themed resort, experience some eerie incidents during their stay, which inspires them to create stories for the ultimate story narration competition - Scare Me If You Can. To add to the mayhem, an unexpected last-minute entry for the narration takes the story-telling to another level.

The book has stories that explore various peculiarities of the ten cities they are based in. Also, all hell breaks loose when one of the most dangerous characters from one of the stories happens to be real and haunts Sivan and the participants.

Praise from Neil D'Silva, India's top and best-selling horror author of Maya's New Husband and Yakshini:

Unrelenting dose of horror right from the first page to the last!

The book is available on Amazon.in at this link and Amazon.com here.

This body of work has been possible thanks to the guidance of Neil D'Silva, Suhail Mathur & team The Book Bakers (Literary Agency) who represented me for the publication, Vineet Bajpai & team Treeshade Books who published my book, and best wishes from a lot of family members and friends. The book has been edited by Harini Srinivasan.

Hitting the #1 on Amazon in horror bestseller and new release categories

Thanks to the initial push and the curiosity in the book, it peaked to hit the #1 in Amazon Hot Releases followed by #1 in Amazon Bestseller in the horror category, giving me the initial thrills that any author hopes and prays for.

Top Reviews from Amazon

  1. Rishi Vohra: The author has done a splendid job in maintaining a certain progression in the book as each story gets more scary than the previous one.

  2. Siddharth Nirwan: SCARE ME IF YOU CAN is one of the most brutally honest horror novel I have ever read. The author has rejected the notion that Indian authors can’t write insane horror stuff.

  3. SB Akshobhya: For a debut novel, Sid Kapdi goes the distance and delivers/scares in the top gear from page one till the last word. He takes out the gun and fires like it's a canon. The important thing is the dare he has marked to start off his horror writing.

  4. Kiran Warrier: The style of narration, the way the characters are developed and the multiple twists and turns are very impressive! A must read for horror and thriller lovers !

  5. Lata Sunil: Reading this horror novel is a first for me and I am glad I did. It is a short book and with 10 stories having good diversity of scares and locations set across the country, I am sure there will be a few stories everyone will like.

The Launch of Scare Me If You Can

The book was launched amid a stellar panel, graced by the most popular horror author in India, Neil D'Silva himself and Suhail Mathur, the co-founder of The Book Bakers literary agency. We also had with my partner-in-crime writing buddy Kiran Warrier who himself is an amazing writer and a very good beta reader; as well as Harini Srinivasan, the editor of the book; Shobhit Saxena, the distribution head from Treeshade and of course the dashing host Siddharth Nirwan, who brought his own charm and a song at the end.

The launch video can be seen here.
